Huatua
Huatua is an AI GIF generator that turns a text prompt into a looping GIF sticker, meme, banner or loop in about 30 seconds.
It is built for people who need something that moves — Discord and Slack regulars, meme makers and social media managers — without opening an editor or learning a prompt language.
Huatua makes short looping GIFs from a prompt. It does not edit video, does not cut an existing GIF frame by frame, and does not export platform emoji sizes yet. Prompts that break OpenAI's usage policies are refused, and the credit is returned.
Fotor
Fotor is a long-running online photo editor and design platform, and its AI GIF generator sits inside the AI Video section of the site.
It is a full editing suite, so you can retouch a photo, lay out a graphic and make a GIF without switching services.
The interface is bright and familiar, with an upload box next to example images, which suits people who start from a photo they already have.
New users get free credits to try the GIF tool before paying anything.
The free credits stretch to about two GIFs, which is little room to iterate on a prompt.
The GIF tool sits three levels deep in the AI Video menu, and a cookie consent wall covered the first screen when we looked, so it takes several clicks to start.
The model behind it is not disclosed, and its subscription tiers could not be verified for this page.
Reported pricing: 20 free credits, roughly two GIFs, and 10 credits per GIF, on a subscription whose tiers were not verified. The live page timed out when we checked on 2026-11-06, so these numbers come from earlier notes; confirm them on the official site before relying on them.
Frequently asked
- What is the best Fotor alternative for AI GIFs?
- If you mainly want GIFs, a dedicated generator like Huatua gets you to a result faster and gives more free tries. If you also edit photos and design graphics every week, a full suite may still be the better home.
- How many free GIFs does Huatua give?
- Three without an account and ten more after signing up, valid for seven days, at the Quick tier (816×816, 6 frames).
- Can I animate an existing photo?
- Not yet — reference-image uploads are coming soon. Today, describe the photo in words, describe the motion and pick a preset; the loop is ready in about 20 to 30 seconds.
- Do I need a subscription?
- Not with Huatua. Credits come in one-time packs and stay valid for twelve months.
